I am a licensed teacher who transitioned into a career in counselling because of my love for people and a desire to communicate care to those around me. When you walk into our therapeutic space, my goal is for you to feel that you can be yourself, regardless of what life has brought your way. I hope that through empathy, trust, and curiosity, we can work together to help you increase your joy in life and accept that healing and feeling better are possible and attainable. Together, we will develop realistic coping skills, increase self-awareness and self-compassion, and process trauma and difficult experiences as needed. I also welcome your feedback, as counselling is relationship-based, and communication helps to strengthen that relationship.
Deborah brings a person-centered and judgement-free therapeutic approach that focuses on empowering clients to make and maintain positive change in their lives. Her approach integrates Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), among other techniques and interventions.
