Richard Evans, MC
Hi, I’m Richard. I have a Master of Arts in Counseling and I am an Associate Professional Counsellor (APC) from the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Prior to this career direction I worked as a Firefighter and Paramedic where I experienced first-hand the devastating effects of both trauma and addiction. A resultant empathy and compassion guide my desire and passion toward providing trauma-informed counseling for all addictions and struggles in life.
APPROACH TO COUNSELLING:
Richard works from a place of empathy and authenticity. He believes in unconditional positive regard and is guided by the Rogerian model of person-centered therapy. He believes that counselling needs to look different for each person and works with the client to move towards their goals. Richard incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Compassionate Inquiry, as well as Narrative Therapy into his counselling sessions.
